I had a utlrasound done, the results were multiple nodules of cystic and solid components. 8 nodules on both lobes. largest nodules measure 9.7 x 13.7 x 8mm have a few that size. Not sure what this really means.

You have a mulitnodular goiter - most likely benign, but the dominant (largest) nodule should be biopsied (with ultrasound guidance) to be complete with the evaluation. Also TSH and TPO antibody testing should be considered to determine thyroid hormone status and to see if there is an immune system attack on the thyroid (ie Hashimoto's).
