Ache in thyroid gland-could it mean a nodule?

So a couple of years ago i was diagnosed with hasmimotos, currently taking 100 mg levothyroxine.
For the past, must be over a year now, ive had an ache in my neck, like something is there. However nothing is noticeable when feeling the area.

I have had a go feel my neck who said it feels fine, but i am worried that there could be a nodule or cancer in my thyroid.

The ache is only in my right side, and im sure it feels swollen compared to my left, however it isnt visable
