Ok so I am 4 years post thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid cancer. I regularly have my tsh and TG tests done to verify I still clear. I had to move to a different state, and had to get a new doctor. First I had to go to a PCP who ordered the WRONG test (thyro-binding globulin) and told me over the phone it was 40 and I freaked only to find out it was the wrong test. Had him refer me to another doctor. This doctor it turns out ordered Thyroglobulin Reflex Profile - I told him I had never seen my TG test ordered this way and he assured me it would give me a TG result.
Checked my mychart and it only showed a result for thyroglobulin antibodies. I called the office to ask about my TG numbers and they said it was under 1. (so was the antibodies which i could see) but I told her I wanted to make sure becuase I couldnt see that result. The doctor himself called me and assured me the TG was done and it was under 1.
Now a few months later I have to have the test again and was checking lab corp mychart for a different thing and it turns out I dont see the result there either.
IS he flat out lying to me? Does TG show in a "thyroglobulin reflex profile"? Has anyone had experience with this specific test? I cant even find any info on that specific test on the internet. I know I should trust doctors but Ive had a bad run of really bad ones that really dont know their job and this is my health.
