keep the convo going.....
It sounds like it will make it easier to qualify for total disability.
Especially people who's disability is not obvious to the naked eye.
That could change easily if the government decides there are too many on the roles. There is one phrase in the new law that is ambiguous and could be used to change the way half the law is interpreted.
Like with many laws passed, there is a back door. Sort of like "well, oral sex isn't really sex". It depends on the meaning of the word "is". That kind of lawyer talk.
Mostly, it addresses working people with disabilities and how their employers should treat them, especially concerning hiring practices.
In leman's terms How do you feel this will assist thyroid patients?
AR - if you dabbled a bit in this - please answer my question?
And this anyone else has read it - please also respond too.

I feel it is important for All to know there are changes coming soon!
I am open to see the changes and pray they can help us...the more people that are aware of the changes- understanding them or not- hopefully they will question not only their employers, but their congressmen, representitives ect and make our needs known.
"selma"
I read about it a little and I am confused.
It sounds like the changes will require employers to make more changes or concessions for employees with disabilities.
It changes the requirements for being considered disabled. It broadens the definition of being disabled, which is a good thing, from what I have read about the Supreme Court whittling away on the original Americans with Disabilities Act.
There is some ambiguous language which is open to interpretation, which may become a problem.
Maybe I don't understand the legal mumbo jumbo.
