T4 med takes a long time for the body to use. A different pill mcg size of only 12mcg's alternating daily should not make a difference, which is why your Dr feels comfortable with this.
But, you can only expect a change if you try something different in dosing or the med brand / type itself. Although T4 meds work alone for most, they dont work for about 10% - 20% of low thyroid sufferers, which is the reason S T T M site exists. If something doesnt work, make a change of some type.
i would get a secound opion i have been taking the synthroid all my life i have never taken 2 pills and defentaly not to different mg get a secound opion i never had heart palpitaions with the synthroid im taking generich now called levothyroxin and never had that problem it i was born without a thyroid gland
Hypo symptoms that surprise some people that are similar to hypEr:
Palpitations and anxiety. That could possibly be your case too.
We nned to see your lates labs to give you input though, TSH is not enough.
I get heart pals whenI need more thyroid med.
An additional T3 med, after the body gets use to it can relieve brain fog and clarity often accompanied from long term T4 med use.
Magnessium glycinate by KAL and mag CALM powder mix relaxes the mind and complete body when taken before bed, Mag needs to be 4 hours from thyroid meds.
I moved on to natural dessicated pig thyroid, it works better for some of us.
I'm not in the "know" as much as everyone because I am still new, but it sounds to me like your dosage needs to be lowered, and maybe t3 added?
It depends on the labs though. Do you know what your current TSH, FT3 and FT4 are?
Also, I think you need to bring this concern up to your doctor again. He needs to know that alternating the medicine every other day was no dice.
