Hi SyIG,

That's exactly what happened to me!   I am sorry you are not feeling well, having been where you are at I know is now fun.  My hypothyroidism was not treated correctly, I was undermedicated,  and I lost 50 lbs in 2 months being hypothyroid.  My current Doc isn't too concerned as I was overweight prior but wants to make sure I am eating correctly now.  He did say that hypothyroidism affects people differently and we don't all get the same symptoms.  Initially, when getting back on levothyroxine I did have to force myself to eat several small meals throughout the day which helped and my current Doc has instructed me to eat lots of fresh fruit, veggies, and lean protein.  My Insurance gave me a nutritionist (because of the hypothyroidism and weight loss ) and the nutritionist suggested that I eat a can of tuna, a scoop of almond butter, whole wheat bread,  high protien ensure (short term use), smoothies with veggies and fruit, etc and to get lots of healthy fats.  Initially I was so weak and shakey that I could not even cook a meal and had no energy to eat, nor any sense of taste or smell (prior to this I had a super smeller according to my friends).  She suggested I shoot for 200 calories at a time to avoid the nausea.  I've  been on levothyroxine for about 6 weeks now and my appetitie is just starting to come back.  My truly knowledgable pharmacist who saw that my previous Doctor kept switching my  manufacturer of levothyroxine (tirosint, levoxyl, etc) inquired as to what was going on and reminded me that levothryoxine is a hormone and therefore could create different hormone reactions (nauseau, headaches, acne, etc).  I do know that I developed acne recently but I'm not sure on which branch and my previous Endo kept switching manufacturers on me so quickly.  I hope this helps.
