"you FINALLY conquered the "thyroid demon" that kept you ill for so long and can live amoungst the world again - without feeling crazy anymore :)"
sigh...I guess I have a ways to go yet!
You've done so well, and have have had such kind words for many people!
I posted a journal today about Hashimoto's but anyone with thyroid disease might relate to it!
when................
You have a ba-zillion sticky notes all over the place and you STILL can't figure out what the he// you were suppose to do! - and STILL forget to do something.....
LOL...............................................................
seriously too.... when ..........
you FINALLY conquered the "thyroid demon" that kept you ill for so long and can live amoungst the world again - without feeling crazy anymore :)
when you can laugh at all the people who said - "It's all in your head!" and know now - that it was your stupid thyroid meds that were off - NOT YOU.
I've only done that once - dirty clothes in garbage and that was last weekend -------- also have put the salt in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard, etc...........
Don't you love it when you head off to another room to do/get something and get 1/2 way there, only to realize that you forgot what you intended to do?????
You go back to feeling as bad as you did when you were first diagnosed...... :-(
......... When you . . . . . . . . . . ammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm . . . . . . . . .
Cant remember what you were going to say! lol!
Happens a lot to me . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

......when you are pulled over by Police for random licence testing and you pull out an old expired licence from 2006 and the new one (3 years old) is at home SOMEWHERE :(
............when you show up for a Docs appointment a WEEK late !
Now you really feel like an idiot.
.............when you throw your dirty clothes into the garbage instead of the clothes hamper!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep - I really did that last week end - fortunately, I realized it before the garbage was taken out..........lol
Just last week, I spent the entire day tearing apart my home office, taking boxes out of the closets, checking file cabinets, digging through the trash and, yes, checking the oven, the refrigerator and the kitchen cabinets and drawers trying to find my MP3 player. We had just returned from vacation, and I was CERTAIN I had unpacked it, because I remembered downloading some songs onto it. Frankly, as the hours dragged on, I was getting very afraid of WHERE I might find it. Eight hours later, I looked at my suitcase sitting in the middle of the mess and thought, "Okay, just to be on the safe side, I'll look, but I know it's not in there." Sure enough, there it was at the bottom of the suitcase. I guess the memory I have of downloading songs after returning from vacation was actually from a couple of weeks back. Dunno. I was relieved at first, but then I started to wonder if I am truly losin' it. The good news is I got those closets cleaned out. LOL
Brigee, your comment about the toaster was fabulous! I thought I was the only one who has found their cell phone and remotes in the refrigerator!!
.........when you are driving and suddenly look around and wonder where you are and how you got there!
When you open your refrigerator and discover that SOMEONE put the toaster in there?
people stare at your thyroid scar instead of making eye contact ! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
2.5yrs later it still ircks me. Yep. Mine is one of the few scars you still can see since it was abscessed and didn't heal 100% as pretty as is should have.

I just love it when airport security panic when the xray machine can't see inside my silver lined cooler bag for my thyroid and cholesterol meds. It's a black canvas square bag which keeps my meds cool whilst travelling. The last time in Auckland they made me open it with almost AK47's pointed at my head. They all breathed a big sigh of relief when I showed them the Oroxine and my letter from my doctor. Hee hee! Glad they were doing their job though!
Lmao skeeter lol !
Maybe HE has brain fog lol.
Dont you just love being able to stay in your pj's all day and have a good reason for it?
When hubby tells someone my problem is not Quazimoto or tombstone.... ah-hem that's Hashimoto or Graves.
or when we blame it all on thyroid and our own Docs have to remind us ;;;; It may not be your thyroid this time!
example: My low Vit D levels
ha ha
...... Your doctor calls you a hypocondriact!
or
When you wake in the morning and realise your not normal!
Yeah! My fingers can't spell at all! I'm constantly correcting their mistakes!
