The bowels are slow when you are low with thyroid function. When left too low with thyroid fuction the cycle of digestion is upsetted. You have 4 cycles of digestion.
1. mouth - saliva with produce when food is seen - getting the stomach ready to start the process of digestion
2. The stomach produces HCI to break down the food ( hypo's have TOO LITTLE acid and PH is off)
3.Small intensine
4. Large intestine
The symptoms of "knowing" you are still hypothyroid with bad digestion is Bloating, Excessive gas, belching, nausea, heavy tired feeling (lethargic) after eating, burning - acid reflex- heartburn, More symptoms can form if you do not get this under control. Food rots in the sytem if not passed properly. Leaky gut - IBS - diverticulities ( sp)
HCG has it's good and bad points. It will allow you to lose weight - yet the condition of hypothyroidism is not corrected without the Free T3 levels being optimal so you gained it all right back even following an excercise and diet routine.
In order to rid this you need two things. Optimally dose correcting with thyroid meds and get the Free T3 levels raised to help speed the metobolism and digestion system correctly.
Introduce probiotics on a daily bases until you have established optimal levels with your thyroid meds along with balancing the PH levels of your HCI.
dont now what the HCG diet is. no you cannot gain weight because you are exercising. you are gaining weight because your thyroid level is low. are you on thyroid medication now? what were your last labs? TSH,free T4, free T3? they need to be normal and then you should be able to lose weight with normal exercise. IMHO.
