L-tyrosine can cause thyroid to over produce hormones.
I have read a lot about Maca how it is suppose to naturally balance your hormones without having any hormones in it, good for bones etc . I took it for a while then I was told that it may not be good for some thyroid patients hence I was told "While maca root is generally beneficial for users with thyroid problems, individuals suffering from Hashimoto's hypothyroidism are encouraged to avoid maca root and use black currant oil instead. According to user feedback posted on SoulCysters.net, maca root can bind thyroid hormones, making them unstable at the cellular level in the case of individuals with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism.
I was also told NEVER TO TAKE THE RAW VERSION...too hard on digestion.

Adding calcium should not change your thyroid levels. Calcium is related to parathyroid and the only connection between thyroid and parathyroids is their location in the body - they have entirely, unrelated functions.
Just be sure, as you noted, that you separate it from any thyroid med by at least 4 hours. I don't see any reason you would need to retest thyroid in 6 weeks, unless you're changing dosage or develop symptoms, etc.
