Can hashimotos cause joint swelling?

I have hashimoto's but the doctor thinks I also have an underlying autoimmune disease (rheumatoid possibly) because my values are all in the normal range but I still have a lot of crazy symptoms. A few months ago the joint where my thumb meets my hand suddenly doubled in size. I was told it was arthritis. Then the skin over my joints in my fingers showed some swelling. Almost looks like edema. I have had achiness in my wrists and hands for about 6 months now but figured it was related to thyroid. Not sure if arthritis and weird swelling in my fingers could be thyroid related. Anyone else have swelling of joints/hands as a result of thyroid problems?

Hashimoto's IS an underlying autoimmune disease....... and yes, it can cause severe muscle/joint pain. It can also cause edema.  I have swelling throughout my body, that may or may not be thyroid related; no matter how high my levels are, it never goes completely away. My fingers swell considerably and often hurt when I bend them.

What are your actual thyroid hormone levels, with reference ranges?
