Looking for a thyroid doctor in PEI or Nova Scotia (Canada)

I recently moved to Atlantic Canada from Ontario and it seems like naturopaths can't prescribe medication here. I have Hashimoto's and have been on desiccated thyroid for a few years and it's been working well for me. I'm looking for an MD who would be willing to keep me on this medication (instead of trying to switch me to T4) and who would check FT3 and FT4 without focusing on TSH values too much.

I try to keep a list of doctors who have been recommended by other members; however, it does not extend that far.   Yes, Naturopathic doctors tend to be more willing to prescribe desiccated thyroid med.  Also Integrative doctors and Osteopathic doctors.  Your best bet might be to call a local compounding pharmacy and ask for names of any doctors who sends them prescriptions for desiccated type thyroid med.    Good luck in your search.  Please let us know if you are successful or not.
