Can you help evaluate my lab values?

My thyroid was surgically removed several years ago due to not being able to keep levels stable, thus causing me lots of symptoms.  I am still having trouble keeping levels stable, which is very frustrating for me and for my doctor.  Lab results: TSH 15.647, FREE T3 2.680, Free T4 0.74.  Also, my cholesterol is now high 292, LDL 199, TRIGYLCERIDES 168, HDL 52.  I JAVE BEEN TAKING SYNTHROID 50 MCG, NOW WILL TAKE 75 MCG.  MY LEVELS BOUNCE ALL THE TIME.  NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAVE THE GAMUT OF SYMPTOMS.  ANY SUGGESTIONS.

I agree we need the reference ranges to along with each test and your symptoms.

But my initial reaction was:  A "normal" thyroid gland produces much more thyroid hormone (mostly T4) in a day that 50 mcg!  Or even 75 mcg.  I can't remember what the estimated average gland production is.  But I thought it was closer to about 150 mcg per day.

IF, IF, that is true, then it would indicate that you would be likily under medicated.

The TSH while not horribly reliable is consistent with being under-medicated and Hypo thyroid.  High cholesterol is also common symptom or by product of being Hypo and under medicated.

Using typical ranges we often see.  your FT4 would be very near or below the bottom of the range.  The FT3 would not be completely horrible, but still lower than what most people would start to feel very well.  But these are all guesses without the actual ranges.

When you say keeping levels "stable".  what do you mean?  do you mean that the results vary, or are you meaning that you want to feel well and you're just not feeling well?

Lots of suggestions, but first please post the reference ranges shown on the lab report for those test results.  Also, please tell us about specific symptoms you have.
