We are hoping in about two years max depending on how quick we can get the backing it will revolutionize the whole medical industry be able to be used anywhere in the world for any kind of diagnositcs and bring affordable treatment and control of your own lives right back home where it all started.
When do you think it may be available
We have worked through all the main configerations like the tdu (testing device unit) and how and where that will be made the relationship between the computer and the tdu. We have worked out all the test kits formations for the different tests (which you will buy from your local chemist) ie if you need blood work you will by that kit, if you need skin samples you will use another kit, urine samples another kit and so on and we know how we are working all this to your computer and the reports that you will be given. Followed by a backup online support but what we don't have yet is the thousands of slides that we have to put on in order to progress. This is costly and time consuming and we are waiting for funding and assistance from a local University that has done some work towards this so like all things good it is just a matter of time. I have in the meantime heard that a company in Malaysia is working on a parallel system to ours but nowhere near as comprehensive as ours. It is all a matter of funding and time.
Way kidding aside Christy.
Share any details possible I would really like to see what this is all about since I asked the question in the first place.
How about buying one for all of us? Thanks friend :)
I'll take one for my brother LArry - and one for my other brother Larry - and another for my other brother Larry.
Do you remember that TV show?
Well....
how about ONE machine, and a hundred test strips if they are required to be used??
Seriously, that would be a HUGE step forward, and I can hardly wait till one is available. :)
Great thanks for the post. Do you have a website to search this idea? Many of us would like to check it out.
AR-10 you better break out your wallet - it sounds like you pre ordered 1000 right? Opps - a hundred. -- sorry
We are currently working on a whole new diagnostic machine here in Australia that will do everything for you at home and will work with your home computer. It is the same size as a dvd disc drive and will only cost about $200 Aussi. As you know most desease's have testing kits already out at chemist for things like diabeties etc so it is not a big step. It will do your tests, print you a report with full details of how, when and where and you can either take it to the chemist (simple solutions) or to your specialist. You will also be able to scan you moles for cancer on the same machine plus use the scanner for online consultations if needed. So in a few years time it will be goodbye to doctors visits and straight to the specialist or hospital. They are waiting for funding and hopefully with get started next year.
I lost my appetite while on this Synthroid but not one pound shed? GO FIGURE?
C~
Yes, I agree.
I didn't know the stats on the at home testing. What a dissappointment. Sounds more like a pregnancy test doesn't it? Yep your positive or yep your negative. I think we know that answer already right?
I was just thinking through if they have it for diabetics - it makes sense for us.
Again of course the thyroid patient waits again.
DLA- I was reading your thread on the gaining weight thing.
I am sure you are as beautiful as kind - as you are on the board. Hang in there. I really hope things turn around for you. I am over the 150 mark now and it really stinks for me. I mentally beat myself up every day I get dressed. I hope your thyroid issues get better.
Okay, Kitty wants exact numbers! lol
I'll buy one when somebody invents one. Heck, I'll be a stock holder. Left arm already looks like a pin cushion from the clucometer. Could use the right one for the thyrometer.
I agree ChitChat--need real solid numbers--not pass or fail.
Useless test for at home.. I went on the site and tells you if Normal or Not Normal and does not give the # and uses old standards for #'s vs. new ones. It takes a week to get results and is FDA approved according to the link.
My TSH test ran about $100 with regular lab/blood draw.
I think it's really important to get the exact # when we have symptoms .. what do you all think?
c~
Yeah--looks like AR-10 and I are both in a good mood today:)
God help us if you do!! ... New career? no thank you.
If they ever come up with a thyrometer, I'd buy a hundred for sure. LOL!!
And yeah, I saw the commercial.
"um, aren't YOU supposed to be doing this?"
I don't think I'll be trying that anytime soon... :/
There is supposedly a new test for bed-side use for doctors offices/hospitals. I don't know if it approved yet, but it only tells if the TSH is over or under a 5!! Not too helpful and not available for home use as of now.
Maybe some day.....
You're crazy today. Feel'n hyper?? Looking back at my threads on this post I hate to imagine myself holding that knife. I can't seem get my fingers to type words correctly today.
Me too, I shake when nervous--there would be all sort of jags.
He's cool with that I am sure. What a concept??? Hey? check your own TSH!!!! He would find that refreshing right AR??
Pretty soon we should have the rights to medically practice on ourselfs with our meds and such. Did you ever see the commercial where the guy is hold a surgical knife ready to cut his beely open while the doc is talking to him via telephone?
I hope it doesn't come to that.
Just checked it out-disappointing.
Why just glucometers?
Why not thyrometers?
Maybe we should start a petition and mail it in to whomever could get the thyrometer started?
I bet AR-10 would buy the first hundred.
Okay--that was mean.
Sorry, AR-10--I feel like joking around.
Hope you are feeling better--if you read this:) Your pal--chigirl29.
