Constant cold in the throat

I had total throiddectomy in October 2005. however, lately I am experiencing some pain in the left part of my neck where I had one part of my throid removed and I have to constantly clearing my throat because of cold, is that something to be concern about?

I had a PTT the end of September and had to go on antibiotic's 3 times in 8 weeks after surgery because I kept getting a AWFUL sore throat w/sinus issue's. I truly began to wonder if the surgery was causing this but once I left MI and headed to FL I was fine until I returned a month ago and had the same problem flare up again. I'm thinking it's just a tough bug that keeps hitting everyone here time and time again in the North East. Maybe my resistance was lowered from surgery and possibly the reason I kept having problems in the fall?

Like you ChitChatNine... I'm wondering if I got some scar tissue now to because I noticed I had much of the same S/S you described above with my latest sickness. However, the sensation was much worse when I'd get the slightest sinus drainage before I had the nodule/PTT removed. I was to the point of gagging. That was my complaint when the nodule was discovered.

I get a tight feeling on the side that was removed whenever I am sick or challenged by allergies .. the smallest thing that causes the lymph node to swell is tight on the neck and hurts .. even gentle exercises .. in my case, they think there's some scar tissue there :0
