Cough

Does anyone have a persistent cough that is not associated with Thyroid cancer?
I have had a US, report suggested 4 to 6 month follow up would be advised.
Endo did his own US again and did not see a need to FNA any of the nodules.
I was put on med. STill worried, I have a family history of thyroid cancer.

Enlargement could definitely cause a cough.  Maybe you might want to get a second opinion from another endo.  I would think with your history a FNA or a scan would be warranted.

Yes, thyroid is enlarged, I also had some nodules.  Endo said most were psuedo nodules and the last one he was not concerned enough about to do a FNA because of the look and location.  He is aware of my history.  So you think the fact that it is enlarged could cause a cough? Thanks for taking the time to answer.  I am having a hard time putting this to bed.

Is your thyroid enlarged on the ultrasound?  An enlarged thyroid can cause you to cough.  So can acid reflux, COPD, bronchitis . . . a million other things.

Does your endo know your family history?
