Enlargement could definitely cause a cough. Maybe you might want to get a second opinion from another endo. I would think with your history a FNA or a scan would be warranted.
Yes, thyroid is enlarged, I also had some nodules. Endo said most were psuedo nodules and the last one he was not concerned enough about to do a FNA because of the look and location. Is your thyroid enlarged on the ultrasound? An enlarged thyroid can cause you to cough. So can acid reflux, COPD, bronchitis . . . a million other things.
Does your endo know your family history?
