Cytomel after breakfast

dropped my T4 from 75mcg to 50 per day and introduced the Cytomel at 5mcg per day on Odd days of the month. Dropped the 100mcg of T4 to 75 to add the 5mcg of Cytomel on even days.  Now going onto the third week.  Somehow feel better taking both the T4 and T3 after breakfast and find my energy levels  stay well during the day. When I took the T4 and T3 around 3am by 5 in the afernoon need to nap.  Soon after taking the T4 and T3 feel sweaty and clammy - is this just because my body is still adjusting to the T3.  Later in the day have symptoms of feeling chilly and have cystitis and was wondering if I should up the T4 a bit and rather drop to 2.5mcg of Cytomel per day.

Thanks

Have you tried taking your T4 med first thing in the morning, then take the T3 med later?  Cytomel does not need to be taken on an empty stomach like synthroid does; however, it *does* need to be separated from calcium, etc by 4 hours.

I get up at 3:30 every morning, so I take my levo then, but wait until about 7:00 am to take my cytomel (5 mcg).  By taking the cytomel later, I have enough energy to make it through the day.  You could even take yours later if you want to, depending on when you go to bed -- make sure you take it early enough so it's worn off by bed time.

Also agree that it would be helpful to know what your latest FT numbers are

I break my Cytomel in half and take half in the morning and half in the afternoon before three. Breaking it in half may ease the hyper symptoms -sweaty and clammy.

If you have a thyroid problem, be sure to get your adrenals checked as well. Adrenal  fatigue is common among Hashi/hypo patients. The 24 hour saliva test is the most reliable.
