Dizzy and poor memory

My sister (34 y.o., otherwise active, healthy) was diagnosed with a hypothryoid several years ago (I was diagnosed a year ago). She was on Synthroid for years and was changed to generic within the last year. She mentioned feeling moody and somewhat tired on the generic, but her doctor dismissed her concerns saying "its all the same." I have read some of forums' coments on generics and appreciate it.
Over the past 3 or 4 months, she has been getting very dizzy at times, has a poor memory (will leave keys in the door/lock) and is still rather irritable. She has gone through a battery of tests including a spinal tap (results pending), was put on antibiotics for lyme disease about 2 months ago, and had some neurological testing. The neuro testing was fine except one was low...I don't know the details, but something to do with short-term memory.
Is it possible that the dizziness and memory problems could be from the generic meds??
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

I suffer from IBS which I am currently receiving no treatment. All treatment received over the years did not work. The doctors I visited in South Africa told me to seek help for stress. This is not the aswer i was looking for. I currently feel permanently tired, i have constant diarrhea, feel a numbness in my brain and my concertration and memory is at low levels.
I am aware that I do not handle stress very well but is there any medication which i could consume to assist in solving the symptoms - Desperate

I don't know if the generic can cause dizziness or memory problems, but I will say that it has different fillers than the brand. I couldn't tolerate the generic levothyroxine. Every time I took it within 30 min, I get a headache even across my scalp, mild nause, warm, flushing skin mostly across my face, diarrhea, and an over all strange/bad feeling. My primary care MD sent me to and endocrinologist who told me he never prescribes generic drug for thyroid. He put me on the brand synthroid and i never had any of those side effects again!! He said it could have been the fillers or  the delivery system of the generic that cause my reaction/side effects. Maybe something similar is happening to your sister!  FYI, I had slight memory problems and "mind fog" when my tsh was too high. I couldn't think clearly until my tsh was back in the normal range, so your sister's memory problems may be related to her tsh number being too high or increasing, maybe due to the change in med. Did MD change her dosage too? I don't know if different versions of synthroid/thyroxine have different potency, but you might look into that as well! Why doesn't she INSIST that her MD switch her back!!! MD can't stop her from taking the drug/brand of her choice, especially if one brand makes her feel better than another!!!! Lots of posters here claim that they feel better on one brand over another! If her MD is a jerk, find a new MD! Also, I don't think synthroid, the brand, is very expensive (at least as far a prescription drug go), so she might consider paying herself if her insurance won't cover the brand, but they probably will pay, because MANY people claim that they feel better on one thyroid brand over another! And, as I said my enodcrinologist does NOT like or prescribe the generic, he said the brand is more reliable!  And, I KNOW the generic made me sick!!! I'm fine on the brand. Good luck!
