Does anyone know?

I saw my specialist who said I need surgery as I have an extremely large goiter/mass  ... On the note he gave me it reads pt woth Goiter removal right side. I have a lung nodule just below the mass also  aand am Hyperthroid Now I am self pay and need to know the approximate cost I will be looking at. So I can pay for this all prior to my surgery, He said he would cost about $2000 and the hospital could run into around $10k. How long is the average stay etc and why would the hospital cost so much .. I bounce back from anethsia very quickly so I do not want to stay inn hospital longer then a night I am in California and any guidance and answers would be great

Thank you in advance

A lot of people only stay overnight. I have heard of people going home the same day! But that is not common.  You really should stay overnight though, as complications can occur, though rarely.
Hospitals have their set fees and it really depends on where you are having the surgery. The more exclusive the hospital, the more it will cost.
  Hope that helps.
