Enlarged thyroid w/normal blood test results

Is it possible to have a thyroid problem with normal thyroid function?.  My gynocologist, among several other doctors in the past has suggested strongly that I find out why my thyroid is so enlarged.  He did the thyroid function blood tests which came out normal, but he thinks it should be further investigated.  I had a scan done years ago, which showed no nodules, but the question still comes up whenever my gynocologist sees me.  My general practitioner says I just have a big thyroid and that is normal for some people.  Are there other conditions of the thyroid that might contribute to me having it be enlarged?

That all depends on what your dr. considers "normal".  Your TSH should be under 3, not 5 like some dr's still refer to the old tests.   Do you know your #'s to post?

Please post the actual numbers from your thyroid test, along with reference ranges.
