Whats causing my pain ?

Hi everyone,
I havent posted for a while, hoe your all doing well.

I keep getting pain in my chest more on the right hand side then the left. It goes towards my jaw and to my upper back. Its really quiet painful.
I was thinking heartattack but I dont get breathless. It happens quiet a lot these days.
I was wondering if it has anything to do with my Hashimotos or not., and if anyone else has experienced this kind of pain.

At present I take 100mg thyroxine
200 mg selenium
50,000 Vit D once a week
1000 Vit B12 daily

I would be grateful for any input .
best regards

Sandra

You should get some new tests done.  Specifically you need to test for both Free T4 and Free T3.  When taking thyroid med, TSH does not reveal much.  If possible it would also be good to test for Reverse T3 as well.   You also should test for Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin, since those need to be optimal as well.   Can you get these done?

Also please check and make sure of the selenium dosage.  I hope it is 200 mcg, not mg.

Does this pain show up during exertion, severe emotional stress or after a heavy meal?

No I was at the computer today , all I had was some toast and a cup of tea . It was painful when it happened and got me worried . I have no emotional stress these days either .
OK that likely rules out angina. You may have costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage in the rib cage).
Thanks for your answer , I havent had the pain since I last wrote so hoping it wont come back but its not the first time. I will go for a check up.

All my best

Since you have obviously been diagnosed as hypothyroid and are taking thyroid med I think we should start by reviewing your thyroid related test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.  Also, have you been tested recently for Vitamin D?   Are there any other symptoms you have?

Levels were all good , took them 6 months ago , maybe I should do them again . I havent had Vit D recently no. I have been a bit tired but not much , was looking after a 9 month old so might be why .
There is good, and then there is optimal.  Please post actual results and ranges.
Sorry for late reply.
I havent had the pain again since I last wrote so makes me think .

Last test results were :
TSh 0.05 mu/L (0.30 - 6.--) SR
Free T4   21.2 pmol/L ( 10.0 - 22.0 ) SR

Sorry no other results as these were taken in the UK .I need to take some new ones now .

I haven't had any other issues these days except for the pain attack I wrote about . Im thinking maybe go for a full check up to be on the safe side. It was really painful and scary.

all my best
