How long does it take to get a normal result

Hi I'm 29yrs old and I have hypothyroidism. I have recently had my forth child who is now 6months old. My thyroxine was increased in pregnancy to 200mg daily. Since giving birth I have decreased it to 100mg daily but I am still having too much. My problem is I am due to have a Tummy tuck in 10 days time and my TSH level needs to be normal before they will do the operation. At my last appointment 3 weeks ago my level was 0.09 I changed my medication from 100mg to 75mg. Do you think in the 3 weeks my TSH level will have changed and be in the normal range? This is the last blood test I will be having as I am traveling abroad for surgery.

Hi, my normal ranges are 0.35-4.5. I need to get from 0.09 to 0.35 in 3 week with a decrease of 25mg a day. I have discussed this with my GP and he said that hopefully this will work but I'm not sure and I really don't want to postpone my op. Obviously if I need to I need to. I go for my last blood test tomorrow so fingers crossed. I hate this juggling game why cant you just be able to have 1 dose and it works. I've been on Thyroxine for about 12 years and I'm always changing meds.

from what i know it takes 4-6 weeks for the pills to get into the system properly i had a decrease of 25mg once and it didnt make a lot of difference to my tsh level your level doesnt look too bad what are your ranges and what is your doctor trying to get you too i didnt realise you couldnt have surgery with an abnormal tsh  i think you should discuss this with your doctor and look at the consequences and consider postponing
