Given Armour thyroid when numbers were PERFECT!

Hi.  I have been on Armour thyroid for about 8 months.  My numbers were within normal limits but I found a Dr that would put me on armour thyoid because I had many low thyroid symptoms.  I started taking the very lowest dose and I split it in half for about four months....then I went up to a whole one.  I started noticing that when I was pushed to the limit I felt like I was jumping out of my skin and my heart would pound out of my chest.  I became more anxious.....  Yesterday I had an anxiety attack and I havent come out of it.. My heart is racing so fast and now that I am aware of it ....its racing faster.  Like up to 130.  It is around 80 resting....  then I get chills when my heart rate comes back down.  I am a nervous person....but not like this though.  This is crazy.  I got off of it 2 days ago and I dont feel any better.  Could this possibly be from not needing the meds in the first place?   I am just so so so nervous now......Thank you so much!

Well that high of an increase could cause those issues too. MAybe a double whammy with the "Mona Vie" ( not sure what that is)

It takes me a good 2 months to increase 1/4 grain each sometimes. I could never up a whole grain! I would be a mess.

I halfed the lowest dose...like .25.  for 4 months and then I went up to a whole one for 4 months.....it seems like the anxiety stemed from that.  My heart racing I believe now that time has passed was from Mona Vie.  I felt like I had 10 cups of coffee...and my heart would not settle down. i got off of it and I am much better!  Thanks for you replys!

What exact dose were you on for 8 mths and what did you increase to?

Did you increase a whole grain all at once?

Hi,
Sorry to read, your not feeling well.  I have no knowledge of thyroid medications, but the symptoms your describing, I can relate to, I'm hyperthyroid.  The medications may be dropping you into hyper thyroid level.

Consult with your doctor, for complete evaluation.

Feel better soon.  Good luck !
