Graves disease question

Finally figured out my problem after about two years. Addision's disease. I am waiting for my PCP to get me in with an Endo. I figure about 4-6 weeks for that, she does not like the one here, and the other one i saw only paid attention to you if you were diabetic. She is also trying to find me another kidney doctor, since the one saw twice ignored all my symptoms and according to her should had caught it with the blood work done. So for now grin and bear this miserable feeling. My weight is down to 99lbs. drastically down from 124 back in Jan. I guess it does sound like i have it. I definetely crave salty foods, (chips, saltine crackers) i get shaky if i don't get them, my mouth starts to water.

The tumor i have, will they can not tell what it is or if it is cancerous or not, it is not able to be biopsied, only option is surgery, and at the moment i am not up for that.

My question is (have not seen and endocrinologist) is it possible that when i had graves disease it caused this problem. My graves disease destroyed my thyroid which turned ino hyperthyrodism. Just curious.

To AR-10 - I am I still considered to have a thyroid problem if i do not have one. My levels have been maintained, at least the TSH anyway. Can't tell you about other ones.
Since graves caused my hyperthyroidism/goiter, i just assumed it also affected my adrenal gland, but at a slow pace.

I requested copies of my lab work, hopefully i can get them tomorrow along with everything else on the tumor.

I will let you know the results and ranges.

Thanks.

Another condition brought on by tumors and hyperthyroidism is hyperpara-thyroid problems. Look up hyper-parathyroid on web alot of useful info. This condition can cause alot of symptoms also. Have you had your calcium levels checked?? Good luck.

Thyroid disease can bring on Addison's.
I am not sure if Grave's would cause it or not. My impression is it is caused by hypothyroidism over an extended period.

I could be mistaken about that.

I DO know that thyroid problems put a lot of stress on the adrenal glands and if an adrenal problem develops and is not addressed early it can lead to Addison's.

Just not sure if Grave's can be the culprit.

I had a TT back in 94. It's not that i don't want to get the surgery, but my PCP said that the tumor did not seem to be cancerous, but she could not rule it out.

Tha Addision is a different issue altogether. She wants to find a good Endo for me so I guess unti then it is a wait thing. I for some reason believe all this was related to graves disease that went undiagnosed for about 6 months before they figure it out. I was just curious if graves could cause problems with the adrenal glands after so long.

I had a friend with graves disease...they shut her thyroid down and put her on synthroid and she is doing sooooo much better...you MUST do something about your problem...It's a very serious thing to just let it go.... I've had 6 surgerys in my life .... you will be fine .... if you don't do anything about it you will be in big trouble.  Don't be afraid of surgery... Get yourself on the road to health.... NOW..
