We'll see.
My wife is hypo and has never been able to lose more than a few pounds no matter how much exercising she does. She'll lose about 8 or 9 lbs and then stay there no matter how much food she cut back or exercising she did.
Now that the Dr. has upped her Thyroid meds to what we think may be getting close to the sweet spot she is doing weight watchers again. She is down about 6 lbs so far. We'll see if this time having the proper thyroid levels if she will be able to continue to lose weight to her goal.
I think others here have reported the inability to lose weight despite aggressive calorie counting and exercise routines. But had more success when the thyroid levels were near the sweet spot. But if not, they didn't lose a thing.
If you look at the list of hypo symptoms in this link, do you see others that might be indicative of still being slightly hypo? Also, would you please post your thyroid test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report?
In my opinion a good thyroid doctor will treat a patient clinically by testing and adjusting levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, free T3 and free T4, as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. If your doctor is not treating you clinically there is a good possibility that you still are somewhat hypo and have low metabolism accordingly.
