If you are taking 150 mcg of Synthroid, then you are hypothyroid, not hyperthyroid. Sometimes patients taking large doses of T4 type meds find that their body does not adequately convert the T4 to T3. This can result in continuing hypo symptoms like you mentioned, since Free T3 is the hormone that largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. Scientific studies have shown that Free T3 correlated best with hypo symptoms, while Free T4 and TSH did not correlate at all.
So, please post your thyroid related test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report so that we can better assess your status.
I know I am years late on this, but was trying to google me some help. I have said wrong words for so long it is a joke in my house to figure out what I mean. I have hyperthyroidism and take 150m of synthroid. Hair loss has gotten better, however when my thyroid is off it falls out again. Dry itchy skin all the time....never able to loose weigh......worn out......all those horrible things. The words are what I don't understand....why do we use the wrong words so much. I have a job where I talk to large groups and always worry about my wording. I said marshmallows for mushrooms in a pasta dish and my daughter was like not in this house......Hope you are doing better. If you have any information, please pass on. Thank you
I'm searching for answers again and I Googled my own post. At first I was reading along and thought OMG this is exactly like me! Then saw, My4cubs. I'm such an idiot! Ha! Well what you said about bath/nap.... yesterday I said purple ball instead of the orange I was looking at. We laughed and I SAID PURPLE again! Today, I told my kid she could go get some cereal.... I meant desert. I worry if I'm losing it and I'm belittled by my teen.
I say the wrong words all the time. The other day, me and my mother had gone to eat, had a buffet meal, and afterwards, I looked at her and said I'm going home and take a bath. Now I meant to say nap, but bath came out. That is just one example of many. I did not know anyone else did this, and would love to find out why this is happening.
I went to a forum on thyroid cancer which was put on by my endo and radiation oncologist. They will not prescribe armour for their patients. From my experience, endos prefer name brand synthroid. I know Tsh needs to be suppressed to less than 0.1, yours is very low. Do you have an endo experienced in thyroid cancer? You may need an adjustment in your meds.
