Hashimoto Diet

Hi :)

I'm working on understanding dietary changes I should be making for optimum thyroid health.
I'm vegetarian, so much of the dietary stuff out there just simply isn't feasible. So what I want to do is collate all the recommendations that I can find (ignoring the meat stuff), then I'll work on putting together a balanced vegetarian thyroid diet plan.

From reading I've done so far I've collated the below broad list of foods and categorised them.

I'm very new to all this and would LOVE any and all feedback on the categories that I've got so far :)
Anything which I've put in the wrong bit, or my understanding of is out.... anything which I've missed which shouldn't be forgotten good or bad? anything at all. This is obviously a very rough draft, but I thought I'd like to put it out there and see what those who've been at this far longer than me thought of it.

Cheers,
Belle

No problem. :)  If you want more information on the vegetable oils check out the article: "PUFA: What is it and Why Should it Be Avoided?"

Avoid - Polyunsaturated vegetable oils depress thyroid activity.

Recommended - Coconut oil is a saturated fat made up primarily of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) which are known to increase metabolism and promote weight loss.

... particularly the avoid group... it started much bigger, then the more I read, the more things moved into the 'eat moderately' group...
