Hi I was wondering what the followup was with your condition.  Thyroid conditions run in my family and last time I went to the doctor my TSH was 3.59 and they told me I was completely normal.  Then a year later, my thyroid suddenly enlarged a bit and I had a six month period of hyperthyroid symtpoms!  It was seriously like exactly six months, then nothing.  I was wondering with Hashimoto's, if you swing into hyperthyroid mode...how long does it last?  I'm trying to figure out what this random six month ordeal was with all my crazy symptoms and random anxiety I've never had before.  My thyroid is still large.  The right side feels larger than the left.  I wonder, with a nodule if that's what I have, if that would cause hyper symptoms for just six months?  Should I expect something to trigger it?  Is it done now?

The pain I have is very bad and has even woke me up at night.  I have lost my voice and at times it has been hard to swallow.  I have a nodule on one side but the pain seems to be on both right and left.

I was told that people with Hashimotos can expect it to burn itself out and then problems of the up and down readings on TSH are easier to regulate.

Have you heard anything on this?
