Hello UK!

Calling all in London area! UK. I live in Ilford and need a good thyroid specialist. I used to see Prof. Maisie at Guy's iin London but that was about 25 years ago. My nearest private hospital is Spire Roding, Redbridge or Holly house, Buckhurst Hill. I'll go to NHS hosp. in Central London with pleasure but round here, no thanks unless someone has had a really good experience with a local specialist (get in touch with the Guiness Book Of Records!). I'm
not being picky or a snob. If you lived within the auspices of my local hospital you'd be more frightened of going there than of being ill!  Would appreciate any input. thank you.

I just wrote you a really long answer and it's vanished! Anyway, lovely to meet someone from the UK and who also knows the system. thanks so much for that referal. I'll google him/her and try and locate. If i can't, i'll get back to you. I feel really sorry for you with your hormones messed up. It's like the game where you stand all the cards up and then push one and they all fall down. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help or just feel like having a moan. I've had M.E. forever but my thyroid tests have been ok for years. I think i need an MOT in that area so maybe an endo might be better.I had hyper, then had radioactive iodine, half dose due to allergies, but still responded by blowing up like a balloon with thyroid on standstill. i was under a professor at guys at the time (prob dead by now!) so he whipped me back and sorted it. Took about a year to climb the dosage ladder but I've had no trouble since. Anyway, thanks once again for the name . Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Hi,
I live in London and see Dr. Moran, who is a hormone specialist who is very good with thyroid treatment. If you have more than just hypo or hyper, I would go to an endo who can help with more complicated things such as Graves, etc. I am still trying to figure out if I have hashis or am just hypo from hormone imbalance and stress.... Good luck!
