Help, need answers about labs/uptake scan

I posted several days ago...I'm starting a new one because I didn't get much response. I was diagnosed with Toxic Multi nodular Goiter about 7years ago...at that time it was euthyroid...(not secreting) and all my labs were normal.
Now, TSH is 0.1  out of a range of ( .4 to 4.5), T3 uptake 31% range is ( 22-35),  T4 total 8.9 range (4.5-12.0), Free T4 index is 2.8 with a range of (1.4-3.8)

Having all hyperthyroid symptoms, not to mention I'm miserable. My family phys. put me on high blood pressure med.s  and Ropinirole, which is for restless leg syn. Which that is not the entire reason I am not sleeping. Truth is my mind is going a mile a second. Chol. is high to boot, and I've lost about 8 lbs in a week...not trying at all.

That being said...Today I had an Nuclear uptake and Scan (radioactive Iodine) It showed the Hot nodule very clearly Uptake was 16% with the range of ( 10%-30%) so according to the tech. It was in range. lower end but in range. According to many sources...This could be an over active nodule and possibly Plummers Disease...Should this be treated? Shouldn't I have the antibody tests run (for Graves and Hashi)? Lastly, should I have the nodule removed or have RAI? Just feeling bad and need answers...PS, I had a Endo, who now doesn't accept my INS. I'm waiting for my family doc. to get me in somewhere sooner than I can. I've tried and July is the earliest.

Thanks, I suppose I will have to be more patient...it's just the symptoms are becoming rather unnerving and with the lack of sleep it heightens everything else... The hospital told me a few days to report to my PCP. So, as soon as he gets the report, I assume I will. I viewed the scan myself and it appears the same as the last one, possibly larger though.  Being a nurse myself, I generally know what I am looking at and was also given a lot of info. on the last one I had...Dr. Mary Self was my Endo. I must find a new one now...anyway thanks again. I will repost when I get more info.

Your doctor is ordering a pretty useless array of tests.  T3U, TT4 and FT1 are all considered obsolete and of little value.  He should be ordering FREE T3 and FREE T4 in place of all of those.

There is no way to treat Plummer's Disease, which is caused by a genetic mutation.  However, the symptoms (hyper symptoms) can be treated with anti-thyroid meds (ATMs).

Antibody tests for both Graves' (TSI) and Hashi's (TPOab and TGab) should be run to rule those out.

I can't answer your question about removal versus RAI.  If you don't get any comments, get back to me, and I'll contact a member very good with imaging to take a look at your RAIU results.
