Hi,i have got terrible symptoms initially i thought it was hiv but after testing 4.5months post exposure an test still negative i decided to suspect my thyroid and perhaps the symptoms have lasted 3months now of which a typical ARS should not last beyond 3weeks,however here are my symptoms i want some one to tell me whether they relate to thyroid disorder or not.
1,Chronic chills and sweat, cold and hot flashes throughout the day.
2,Neck pain and general throat discomfort
3,Tingling in hand and feet, body ache, pains behind my eye
4,Bad breath and taste
5,Increase in heart beat, palpitation, tremble,if want to answer a question in class my heart bit a lot and afraid this very symptom has been with me for up to 7years now.please someone should give me a direction i have suffered so much spending money unwarrantedly.

Be sure you request all the tests I mentioned above for testing thyroid.  Don't let your doctor get by with only testing TSH, which is what a lot of them try to do.  Also ask for the vitamin B12 test because some of your symptoms really point that direction, even if you aren't vegan.

Your symptoms could apply to any number of conditions.  Without proper diagnostic testing, it's impossible to determine what might be causing your problems.

To test thyroid function, you need to have, at the very least, Free T3, Free T4, TSH and thyroid antibody testing - Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab), Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab), Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI).  The antibody tests will tell you if you have, either, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which can be characterized by periods of hyper (not that I think you have hyperthyroidism) or Graves Disease.

And yes, if you're vegan, ask for vitamin B12 test.

If you are a vegan as your user name suggests, then consider vitamin B12 deficiency.

Hi, ok firstly have you consulted a Doctor, or general practitioner?
I highly recommend doing so, firstly here are the possible illnesses which maybe affecting you: hyperthyroidism suggested by the palpitations, and possibly graves' ophthalmology, but it's weird because you have had palpitations for several years now..  my best guess is hyperthyroidism, but please check with your doctor before taking medication.

remember i'm not a trained professional, consult your doctor or hospital specialist doctor. GOOD LUCK MY DEAR FRIEND!!!
