Help my 15 year old

I have a 15 year old girl who has gained over 100 lbs in less than 8 years.  She is active in softball and volleyball not to mention she runs everyday.  This child is chronically fatigued, depressed, has difficulty concentrating.  She also has heavy periods, a low vitamin D level,  and difficulty getting to sleep as well as staying asleep.  We went to her pediatrician who ran the general tests and everything was within normal range.  She sends us to a Endocrinologist and all she does is chalk it up to her being a teenager.  We went to a sleep specialist and found out she had a ferritin level of 3 and her iron absorption was at 5%.  At the time she had the tests done, I had her on prenatal vitamins and B complex.  She is now on iron supplements with vitamin C and they also put her on antidepressants.  She still complains of fatigue, feeling like she's still having sleep problems and she hasn't lost a pound no matter how hard she tries.  Could someone please help me figure out what is causing my daughter to feel so bad?

She's had the T3 and cortisol and from what the hematologist said pretty much all the normal tests they run to rule out hypothyroidism.  They said her tests were all within normal limits.  I don't understand how she can still feel so exhausted taking as much vitamin C and Iron supplements not to mention the prenatal vitamins.  The last test they did on her iron absorption said it came up to 9% so you would think she would be less fatigued.  Her periods are rather heavy but they last about the average length.  Do you have any other suggestions?  Thank you for responding so fast.

With a ferritin issue - someone should be looking at two things.

The thyroid hormone FREE T3 and her adrenals. You have to push to get both things throughly examed.

They might run the test - but if she ranges in the  normal limits - Most doctors will pass them off as OK labs.

What labs has she had done?

What's her period like?
