I was diagnosed with Polycyctic ovarian cycts and hyper active thyroid in January and now have graves diesease. Carbizamole made me ill and had awful headaches, so i was taken off it and put on PTU but my heart palpatations have returned with a vengence! Its almost contant all day long and my heart feels like its getting faster by the day. My next appoitment is on tuesday next week.... i know i cant have beta blockers whilst on PTU does this mean i have to have RAI? And why do PTU tablets taste so horrid? I have a nasty taste in my mouth all day.
Usually the next step if the hyperactive gland can not be controlled is going through RAI or surgery.
