High C-Protein..Anyone..anyone?

Hello again!  Ok my PCP went over labs said everything was normal 4.36 TSH, 1.86 Free T4 but my C-Protein was almost 3 times as high as it should be (8.00 with 3.00 being the highest it should be).  This indicates an inflamation "somewhere" in my body.  This is the same Dr who told me my thyroid was slightly enlarged 2 weeks ago.  Her RX for this exercise at least an hour a day and loose weight.  I told her this is where the problem is I am exerciseing30-45 4 days a week with weight watcher and my scale does not budge.  I was told to "try harder".  I cried all the way home and most of the night.  Will this battle never end?  I am going to an endo on 5/7 and hopefully she will listen.  The C-Protein scares me because it can mean many nasty things including Cancer.  I have been having the discharge from my breast with a lump that no one eally seems to concerned with but me.  I asked her to check my pituitary gland because of this and she said "no need". sigh.....

I agree with seeing a new doctor (endocrinologist).  Your TSH is high but your freeT4 appears to be good but I don't know what the ranges for your test were.

Just wondering what other labs they ran on you.  Did you have prolactin, progesterone, estrodiol, LH, or FSH?  I am asking since you do have discharge which could have something to do with your hormones.  My gynecologist ran a TSH and a prolactin test prior to being dx as hypo to rule out a pituitary problem.

Sorry I can't help about the C-protein.  But I would get a second opinion.  Check out this website for help with understanding labs

The new normal range for TSH is .3 to 3, (Not all labs have adopted this new normal range yet.)  I recommend finding an endocrinologist in your area and getting a 2nd opinion.

Try not to worry. All will be well. It is is just time to see someone other then your PCP for your thyroid concerns.

Best wishes to you.
