High t3 - dangerous??

I have Hashimotos, and had a thyroid lobectomy 8 years ago.  Started on Levoxyl and for last 4 years on Armour  thyroid.  Question is my last labs show my t3 triiodothyronine, free serum levels getting higher . level is: 5.4
level should be (2.0 -4.4) . t4 is 1.02. TSH is 1.520 (0.450-4.500) How dangerous is high t3 levels?  I suffer from intense sweating, shortness of breath, insomnia.  Is it due to the t3 level? Hate to go back to levoxyl/synthroid want to stay on armour.  Any suggestions??

Thanks Barb. I'll try splitting the dose. My doc wanted me to go back on synthroid. Really hate to. He only tests the TSH. Doesn't see the need for much more. Even my Endo doesnt feel hashi's is relavent.

Sorry, I'm just waking up... I just realized you said you take 60 mg every morning... you may not need to cut back on your dose.  You may only need to split it into more than one dose.  Such as 30 mg in the morning and 30 mg around noon.

Did you take your medication prior to the blood draw?  If so, that would give a false high T3 reading.

per gimel's question -- did you take the medication prior to the blood draw?

Do you take all of your medication at one time or do you split into multiple doses throughout the day?

You'll need to cut back your dosage.

I was hyperthyroid for a year and this caused muscle atrophy, depleted stomach acid which caused many nutrient deficiencies and rising homocysteine, thyroid antibodies skyrocketed (due to oxidative stress most likely), worsened my insulin resistance and caused pre diabetes, tooth enamel cracked off and who knows what else! You want your free T3 to be a bit lower in the range than your current levels!

What is your daily dose of Armour?  Do you take it all at once?  Did you take it in the morning before the blood draw for tests?
