Hope things improve

Hope I didnt speak too soon. I was terribly nauseous last night and vomited a few times. I am wondering if this could be from med increase. I feel very achy all over. I took 12.5 mg Tenormin this morning as my heart rate felt racing. What is considered a tachycardic heart rate?  Are there any side effects from the beta blockers?  So worried that I will need to reduce Levo dose as i feel less dizzy and tired on it.

I have finished the antibiotics and have been taking a probiotic along with it. I will continue to take the probiotic for a little while to help GI tract.  My internist acted liked the UTI was no deal but she prescribed a week dose of Augmentin twice a day.  My stomach was really rumbly all week and the nausea/vomiting kicked in last evening.  Hope this all starts to even out and I begin to feel more energetic.  Thanks for all your advise.

I know what you mean...I hate taking meds, too.  The nausea could very well be from the antibiotics.  Are you finished with the script for the antibiotics?  They can be really hard on the gut as they wipe out so much of that good bacteria that your body has been cultivating for so long.  You might ask your doctor on Monday about probiotics...they help restore the balance in your gut after a course of antibiotics.

Thanks so much for your kind wishes. I have not vomited today, a little nausea. I have been drinking ginger ale.  I dont feel dehydrated as I have been able to keep drinking fluids .Unfortunately last week, I also had take antibiotics for a UTI so I think I could have some nausea from that.   Have to see my internist on Monday so I will ask her about the GI symptoms. Hope the UTI is all cleared up as I had no symptoms but the urinalysis results showed infection.  Hate taking all these meds!

HR over 100 bpm (resting) is considered tachycardia.  Beta blockers will slow your HR and lower your BP.  At first, atenolol (generic Tenormin) made me feel a little "slow", like I had to make an extra effort to get going.  However, that feeling went away after I'd been on it for a bit.

Are you dehydrated from vomiting?  Dehydration will cause body aches.

Have you tried ginger for your nausea?  You can either chew a litle ginger root, eat a ginger snap or two or drink ginger ale.

I hope you feel better as the day goes on...
