Awwww, shucky darn -- I was hoping I could -- oh well, I've got a routine down pat, so will plan to stay with it.........thanks anyway.......
Does that work for levo/synthroid as well? I do that with my cytomel, but the instructions say it can be taken with or without food anyway, so doesn't really matter. It (cytomel) also says to separate by at least 4 hrs with calcium, magnesium, etc. Just didn't know if I could do the levo sublingually.
If you take it sublingual you don't have to worry about any of that. Just - pop - go and eat. Also sublingual frees you up to take supplements next to each other too.
It is the best way to take in thyroid hormone.
I was doing this when i would wake for the trip to the loo, then someone wrote you cant take med and go lay down again, they wont absorb properly, has anyone heard this?
I've been Thyroid patient for about 30 years. What I found the best time to take the medication is 3:00 am - 4:am, whenever I wake up at night. Then , i go back to sleep again. When I get up in the morning, after a light exercise, I am ready for breakfast. This system works very good for the working folks. Also you don't have to worry about for contradiction with foods. you don't have to count hours, or take your vitamins or any other drugs that you're taking. As you all know, thyroid medication doesn't get along with anything at all. And the best part, you feel better. Please try this., you also feel better.
I take my levo, then wait 30 minutes for coffee - by the time I shower, dry my hair, etc the 30 min goes relatively fast. I wait as close to an hour as possible after taking my med before I eat. I take my cytomel at 7:00 am, which is almost 4 hrs after taking my levo.
I was taking mine and waiting an hour to have my morning coffee that i so desperately need:) but now i only wait half hour, i will stay consistent with this now so should be ok i hope..
Three hours, well see how it goes! Right now I split my dose between waking up and mid afternoon to even out the T3. I want to try taking all of it around 10 - 11 AM, so I don't have to split it then.
Tried taking all of dessicated early AM, was to wired, then crashed.
I have read of people that even take dessicated combo at night, I dont know how they sleep at all!

I take mine and wait 30mins before eating ...
To this day, if I wake up with a sinus headache I take my Sudafed instead and actually don't take my Synthroid for the day .. I get very WIRED on it .. tisk tisk .. but don't do it more than one day ... the most I've ever gone is 3 days without taking it and I started to feel symptomatic even though the books would beg to differ LOL!

I was told three hours, but I take mine in the morning and suffer for the hour. I'm assuming you've got some T3 meds in there. Beware that if you take your T3 too late in the day, you'll be up late that night.

oops -I meant to type "absorbing!"
I've always been told to take it 1 hour before meals or two hours after. This is not so convenient for us as my daughter is 9 and it's not always easy to make her wait that long. So, we just do the best we can and seperate our meds and food by atleast 30 minutes. She is doing really well, but this may be the reason that she needs a full grain more of her meds then she really should. Her food is probably observing some of it???? Makes since to me.
Oops, I meant empty stomach.
