How much does thyrogen cost??

My insurance probably won't cover thyrogen shots for my year scan and thyroglobulin test. Does anyone know how much 3 shots would cost me???  I don't look forward to going off my meds for several weeks since it took me 7-8 months to finally feel good after my tt.  I was on 8 different synthroid doses until we got it right.  I'm on 250mcg.  I would rather pay for them then be miserable.  Maybe President Bush's money he's sending us will come in time:)

what state do you live in that the cost of the drug is half what other people paid. what pharmacy di you get it from

does it need a prescription or i may buy it w/o prescription too? doesn't anyone know about where finding two vials of .9mg thyrogen w/o prescription?

I was quoted $1800 for both.  Crazy.........  Basically I was told it was a specialty drug and they weren't covering it!!!!!!!!11

It's worth fighting over.  Mine were actually $500 a piece for a total of $1000.  Might want to tell the insurance company it's cheaper to do the thyrogen shots than deal with a crazed thyroid patient going through hypohell (again)

Thank you.  I am going to call my insurance company to see if they will.  If they don't, I am going to fight it.  I don't want to go hypo again.

Mine were covered by insurance but they were $1,000 each.I had 2 last july.
