Thanks AR and Stella.... I appreciate the input.
This is driving me up the wall and I'm tired of it.
I have been doing blood work monthly.
Now he want to do a RENIN test.
Maybe he's crazier than I am
Take care and thanks again
2007 results
U/S --------2 nodules 0.6 and 0.8
and rai uptake and scan -----hot nodules
18 mci's to ablat the thyroid December 2007
================================================================
This is the result os an U/S completed on 1/08/09
1) the right lobe measures 3.2 x 0.8 x 0.8 cm
2) the right lobe has a hypoechoic nodule in the inferior pole that is solid 0.4 x 0.4 x .04 cm it is well circumscribed.
3) The isthmus is .25cm and is heterogeneous in echotexture
4) the left lobe measures 3.4 x 1.4 x 1.1 cm
3) The left pole there is an isoechoic nodule seen in the lower pole 0.3 x 0.5 x 0.5 cm
4) The upper pole, there is a nodule 1.0 x 0.9 x 0.5 cm
I thought the rai was suppose to get rid of the daggone nodules. Is this why I'm feeling so yucky and ny neck is starting to stick out on the side.
Would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.
Somtimes on an uptake prior to a nodule - The actual nodule was there but not seen on the uptake.
Only a US or MRI can see a nodule - not an uptake scan.
It could have been there prior to the ablation and then when the thyroid shriveled up and move into it's new position the US picked up on it.
Walking in your shoes - here my lady! Going through the same stuff as I type this to you.
AND to top it off - IF the nodule WAS present before the RAI - when the thyroid shrivels up and falls lower - IF that nodule was there IT can lodge itself in a bad area to cause some issues for a patient down the road.
I had RAI in Jan. '08. In August a test was run that showed my thyroid was completely dead. RAI is supposed to take three to six months to finish it's job.
It sounds like part of your thyroid did not take up the radiation and survived.
