How to loose and maintain my weight

I've been diagonosed with Hypothyroidism in 2000,since i'd a heavy bleeding and my weight increased from 57kilos to 75 kilos and had been on Eltroxin tablets 100 mcg ever since.  I'd lost approx 15 kilos within the next 2 years and my weight remained constant.

In the year 2005, I began putting on a lot of weight and by 2009, my weight increased from 60kilos to 80 kilos.  My doc had then diagonosed me with Hashimoto THyroiditis and increased my dosage to 125mcg.  During this phase, i frequently experienced depression, constipation and lack of sleep.  No matter what the circumstances were, I was always determined to loose my weight and the fat.

I began by walking for 2 hours everyday to beat the stress and depression and even switched onto a salad diet but my weight never decreased.  A cosmotologist recommended that i take Reductil and Glucophage (eventhough I do not have diabetes), I began loosing weight approx 6 kilos in 2.5months and felt energetic.  But offlate, my constipation has increased.

Please advice how to loose my weight and fat.  Iam a chocoholic but reduced the intake to just two a week or sometimes depending upon my mood cravings.  Do i continue with Reductil?  How do i speed up my metabolism and loose more weight since I may have to tie the knot soon?

I agree with Sally -- please post your current thyroid levels.  Once your levels are right for YOU, you should be able to lose weight, with proper diet and exercise.

do you know your thyroid levels? please post latest results, along with the reference ranges.

i'd like to see these are optimal before going into other option, cause it sounds like you do know what to do diet and exercise wise.
