Hyperplasia????

I am 27 year old female, I am awaiting my blood test results to find out if any Thyroid problems I have.  I did have a Thyroid ultrasound done that showed my right lobe to be 6 cm and my left lobe to be 3 cm with both lobes having multiple small cysts.

My question is I had my I123 Uptake and Scan and on  that it showed low normal iodine uptake and Mild Nodular Hyperplasia, what does that mean, I cannot find anything specific on the internet about Nodular Hyperplasia. I am hoping it is an ok thing.  Any info would be great.

Symptoms:

Goiter - Neck uncomfortable - Exhausted - HBP - hear rate is 110-120 - shaky hands - dry skin - diarr/constipation sometimes both - blurry unfocued eyes - bad anxiety - mood swing and many other symptoms as well..

My GP ran some labs but they seem to be ok so I decided to get a 2nd opinion with an endocronoligst, I get my results tomorrow morning.

TSH .9 normal
t3 uptake 1.11  range was ?? -  1.3

Any info on Nodular Hyperplasia would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

what ever happened with your situation? I just had the left lobe of my thyroid removed and the nodule came back from pathology as hyperplastic. I suffered with the same symptoms as you for two decades!

hyperplasia just means extra cell growth...for instance,

I have endometrial hyperplasia, meaning my endometrial lining is bigger than it's supposed to be.

So, I would assume that nodular hyperplasia means simply that there's a nodule present which is always abnormal cell growth (wether cancer or not).
