Hypo Symptoms Affecting One Side of Body

My TSH is 4.77 (down from 5.6). My GP will not do anything about it, so I am seeing a Endo at the end of the month. Currently, I have a majority of the symptoms of hypo (extreme fatigue, sweating, dry skim ,ataxia, even neuropathy and tremors). The problem is that it just affects my left side. Is this at all normal? (I have had two strokes in my thirties and have seen six different Neurologists because my health is deteriorating, but they can't find anything wrongI I am worried the Endo will also say it is stroke-related..)

I plan to ask for antibody tests from my Endo, but if Hashi's is found, how do I know if it might be Hashimoto's Encephalopathy (I know it's a rare disease, but high-dose steroids helped five years ago after I had surgery.)?

Thank you for your time!

Hi,

I have been experiencing pain and cramps  in my left arm, leg, foot and hand. My left calf feels stiff, and I have Weird head aches.  I am so scared I'm hoping that the endocrinologist can help me.  I'm freaking out because I also have twitching. I had a clean EMG. Was diagnosed with benign fasciculations. Can someone please give me some insight on hypo symptoms.

It's good to know I'm not the only "odd one" out there! :-)

Yeah, I've had so many MRIs and CTs, I can't even count them all! Docs did find a cavernous hemangioma in my brain, so I had risky brain surgery and had it removed. Unfortunately, my health still declines. I had another stroke after the hemangioma was removed and now Neuros kinda smirk at me thinking I'm making everything up.

Hopefully, my appointment with the Endo (7/30) will help give me the answers I've been searching-for for years.

Thanks for your responses!

If it is any consolation...I have had aches and pains and cramps on the left side when hypo.
I have had cramping hand, aching hip, leg and knee ...all on the left side.
Once the levels have stabilisied, the symptoms disappear.
So no it is not unusual but would be worth getting checked.

Have you ever had an MRI?!? Were these strokes documented via CT scan at a hospital, or something? That's definitely not normal......

I believe Hashimoto's Encephalopathy is diagnosed by the presence of certain proteins in spinal fluid, in combination with being positive for the anti-bodies. People with HE may also have abnormal EEG's and MRI's though many have normal EEG's and MRI's.

Keep us posted on how it goes.
