I've been not around much and really probably have to disappear again soon but wanted to comment. My sister has a "dead tooth". Had it since her pre-teens. It on occasion does the pimple thing. Her dentist said its from that dead tooth. That for years she had this pocket of puss trapped up there and it comes out occasionally from time to time in the form of this pimple. Its her front tooth so she is reluctant to get it removed. She also has the nose bleeds. Rest assured, she dont have mouth cancer so please try to "assume" its not cancer until somebody tells you otherwise.
Oh my goodness, I am sending you such huge get well thoughts!! Thank goodness that dentist knew what to look for so that you could get this checked out immediately!! Please keep us posted on how things go!
Red,
I am so sorry know that this is going on with you. I am sending (((HUGS))) your way.
Enjoy your holiday and as you stated, take care of it when you get back.
I'm having my pity pary too, soo we can all cry together.
Take care
Terri
No Uh -OH stuff - it just is NOT what you are thinking.
The power of the mind and what you NEED to think is what you need to do.
It's NOT cancer.............. it's a zit. ( keep saying that)
I still want you to come over to Moo Country (Midwest ) when you are here.
It would be Jim Dandy!!
Awwww you guys made me cry! You are all so caring.. it is amazing! I truly can't wait to be in the same time zone as you all! Ok, most of you!
Just can't believe I am going through the Uh-Oh What-if-it-is again....Most annoying!
Hang in there, Red. We're here for you and we'll cry along with you if you need us to. Like utahmomma, I too, have been having self-pity parties myself. Let us know how this turns out for you. I'll be thinkin' about ya, and sending positive energy your way!
Maggie
Oh red - I am slow, but here and am stumped on a response. Hugs and great vibes your way. Enjoy your trip, you deserve it. Oh yeah, glad the man is no longer MIA!
Utah, how's your daughter?
Don't know what to say but, after having my own major one-woman pity party last night, all I have to offer is huge {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}
I saw your post today and wanted to respond but was on someone else's computer.
What you describe is scary. But please don't jump ahead. As a friend of mine used to say, "Let's wait and see what's what."
I do hope everything turns out to be something easily treatable, I really do.
It sounds like you have a nice trip to put your mind to now.
You're in my thoughts. Please take it easy.
Good luck! I will be watching! Let me know how your trip is to USA! It is usually still pretty warm at the end of August here and through September. I, too, have had many tooth problems since my last child being born, not realizing I was Hashi's until 2 years ago would have been helpful. Carrying around meds everywhere, is a pain. Especially taking up luggage and makeup space ;). Have a grand time and let me know how you do this week!
I see my general practitioner on Wednesday, but no doubt he will want to send me to a specialist. Here that takes around 6 weeks to get an appointment, so it will be after I get back from US. I leave August 26 so am trying to get my summer gear out, try it on and pack. (Not easy in an unusually colder than normal winter in Melbourne Australia!) I'm trying not to connect too many dots, but when the dentist (who is totally wonderful!) was honest with me, I realised I should have not been dumb and got it checked out years ago.
I haven't had too many down days lately, but you guys being here sure help when I do go dipsy doodle!
Keep your chin up! You sound like you have a good understanding dentist. Again, it is okay to be p..o..'d. That is why everyone is here! Have fun on your trip to the US. Are you going to see the doc before or after the trip?
Thanks! I have had a billion and ten root canals...teeth with roots shorter than a babies, decay faster than a speeding bullet...and my dentist I see now was brilliant in understanding Hashimoto's disease. He told me, after my own research, that alot of his patients with Hashimoto's disease have very poor dentition! It really explained alot to me! My short roots are due to a genetic problem.
I didn't get the pimply thingy checked out coz I thought it was just me. About 10 years ago I got Adult Acne for the first time, and just put it down to that. Another dentist told me it was just an ulcer type thing and nothing to worry about. Now having done a read up about it all, it is very worrying! My dad's biological mum died from Mouth Cancer. I never met her, my dad was adopted out. Dad only found her family 2 years after she had died. I just found out my sister had a similar thing a few years ago and the dentist thought it was Mouth Cancer as well. She had it removed and it was benign. But hers was in the early stage...like a few months..mine's been years! DUMB ME!
This tooth will have to come out apparently, but I told my Dentist...Make me beautiful for the US and I will worry about that when I get back!.
When is the appt with your Dr? It's ok to have your down days; we are here for you ALWAYS ....... ok?
C~
I am sorry to hear about the possible problems related to your mouth! Keep us posted.
Now, about teeth and Hashi's, I know with hypothyroidism there is some corralation with problems. Pregnancy is an even bigger culprit, but dentists won't admit it. In the past year, I had a second root canal in the same tooth! As Stella was saying, it too had a crown but failed. I had it retreated and then a blister, or a pimple showed up! I went straight to the Dentist. The pimple showed about 4 months after the retreatment. So we tried to save it, but it was not going to make it and I had it pulled at the end of June.
So, red, I will be thinking of you and how your nosebleeds and mouth is! Good health!
Alot of unanswered questions here.
Hadn't you had that stuff checked out? Did you tell you reg doc about the nose bleeds? What about the pimple thing did any doctor know about that.
Now I am worried for you.
Hey - you say b/c of the Hashi's your pearlie whites are no more. We'll I ask - I too seem to be having a bit of problems with teeth lately. I could be on my 3rd root canal this week
Are dental problems connected with Hashi? This tooth as been an issue for me for almost two weeks - two rounds of antiboitics and the aches are still there. It's crowned already so I assumed I would not have any problems ever again.
