Is this normal?

I have been on synthroid for about a year now due to Hypothyroid. I stopped taking the meds twice in that time. Both times I've come down with a SEVER sore throat. Is this due to me stopping my meds?

OK if you have read my posts lately I have been in sheer agony. I know the deal here.

Your hypo - you get acid reflex---- you get acid reflex you BURN. Sure taking acid meds will help - but if you are not taking your meds you not solving your problem and mixing the acid reducers and thyroid meds are not great to do.

STay on your meds.

It's hard enough to stay on top of this condition when you are faithful on your medication why put yourself through agony?

I was also diagnosed with hypothyroid but recently had a TT. From what I hear some people who have hypothyroid experience hoarseness of voice and soreness of the throat.

Depends on how long after you stopped your meds that the sore throat developed, and why you stopped taking your meds.
