As per my blood tests my all values like TSH, T3 , T4 are fine. I don't know all looks fine on papers. This is why dr don't want to treat me.Even if they want , I will be hesitant to take it. I am managing my life with VitD3. This is miracle Vitamin. through this post I want to let people know that they should stay away from all 5 alpha reductase whether synthetic (accutane, finasteride) or herbal like saw palmetto. These thing are poisons, worse than rattlesnake venom. Some greedy people are throwing these junk in the market. They have no guilty feeling after destroying health of innocent people. I have got many emails from young boys and girls who after the use of saw palmetto are suffering from different health issues. The top issues are fertility, loss of muscles, loss of concentration, sleep issues and depression.
Have you been tested for possible thyroid issues? The best tests to start with are Free T4, Free T3 and TSH. Also would be good to test for Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin.
If no link or study exist right now, it doesn't mean the medicine does not cause it or it is safe.It always take years before main media acknowledg side effects. Maybe in the future it will be proved.Accutane is 5 alpha reductase inhibitor like finasteride and saw palmetto. These meds including Saw Palmetto are evil drugs. They have destroyed lives of million of people. But a lot of people don't know about these side effects because doctors deny them and the cases are not reported to main media. I am also suffering from sides from Saw Palmetto. My life has destroyed. My body is constantly cold and fatigued. I have lost my career. I am alway suicidal. I have never used any serious medicine before or after but only 5 alpha reductase inhibitor.Guys stay away from these herbal or synthetic drugs,no worth it.
thanks ,for your time and your attention

That's poorly written documentation and they don't give any details of the study. It says "On June 8, 2013: 26,700 people reported side effects when taking Accutane. Among them, 47 people (0.18%) have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis"....... It doesn't indicate that the Accutane "caused" the Hashimoto's; it simply said that 47 people had it...... AND 47 out of 26, 700 is a pretty small number.

This does not say that the hypothyroid people had Hashimoto's. There are some hypothyroid conditions that are temporary. Hashimoto's is neither temporary, nor curable.
It says "Isotretinoin has been reported to disturb thyroid function, causing both reversible hypo-and hyperthyroidism (1-3), but this impression is not conclusive"....... Again, this does not mention Hashimoto's; only reversible hypo- and hyperthyroidism, which Hashimoto's is not.
Your third link was "bleeped" so it didn't come through; that indicates that you got it from a competing site or somewhere MedHelp does not recognize.

Can you send me a link to what you were reading that said there is a relationship between Isotretinoin and Hashimoto's? I don't know of any scientific studies being done on that.
Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease, in which your body recognizes your thyroid as foreign. Many of us have it, who have never taken Isotretinoin.
Accutane is no longer on the market in the U.S.
Thanks , but if you google it you will find linked between the medication and hashimoto . Thanks for great new information
So far, lawsuits have focused on Accutane and birth defects, depression and suicide, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Eg: "Accutane Lawsuit: Andrew McCarrell Wins $25 Million After Having Colon Removed." No mention of Accutane associated with hypothyroidism. Good thing you only took the drug for three days.
Thanks , i really sad because all my famlly healthy also i read in internet some research that made link between the medication and hshiomoto .plz help me i want to make sure and to tell pepole about that . Yes and i will post my result soon
I don't know of anyone who has your particular issue with the Isotretinoin, and I can't find a link between it and hypothyroidism.
If you were diagnosed with Hashimoto's, I'm sure that's what's causing your hypothyroidism, because with Hashimoto's, the body produces anti-bodies that attack and destroy your thyroid. The disease if progressive and as healthy tissue is destroyed, your thyroid makes less and less hormones, leaving you with hypothyroidism. Because you have Hashimoto's, your hypothyroidism is not reversible.
Are you currently on a thyroid replacement medication?
Any one has like my condition
