Its in my family.. Graves and Hashimotos....

Well thank God for this forum. I do not have a dr. so I went had some precautionary tests done at the hospital last week. One of them was Thyroid. My Mother had Hashimotos and My sister Graves. So I always try to keep a handle on that. Well I didnt test for a few years so this year I did... My free t4 came back 1.52 ng dl and My Tsh came back o.oo3 and was flagged as L. The last year I have had extreme pain in all my joints and hips and shoulders.. I thought it very strange to be everywhere even my toe and finger joints.. I have also felt my mental alertness is off as I try to talk and I find myself forgetting a word to discribe something and i have become very self concience of that!!! I am very very tired all the time... I would appreciate it so very much if you can give me some information on the tsh low levels and what that might mean... I cant seem to find the info i need on it. If I do have a thyroid prob.. I want to address it now. Thanks Dr. :) I just turned 58

I think you need to do some reading on the condition Graves disease.

Along with Graves - you should be reading about hyperthyroidism too.

You should consider looking at getting some Tgab and TSI testing - also a thyroid uptake scan should be done very soon too.

Remember the rule of thumb on TSH labs.

The HIGHER the labs is - the more HYPOthyroid you will be.

The LOWER the TSH - the more HYPERthyroid you will be.

YOu are running next to zero with your lab. You sound hyperthyroid to me.
