Left Breast Pain. Is it due to hypo thyroid?

Hello everyone:

I had radiation Iodine done when I was had severe graves over 13 years ago. I have been on thyroid medication since then. Thyroid blood results have been up and down, sometimes normal but most of the time always not.

However, I have had more and more palpitations and heart fluttering and LEFT BREAST PAIN while going through these heart palpitations. It often wakes me up while asleep. I had the ER doctor take an xray of my left breast. I guess nothing was found or she would of told me. My blood pressure was 178/68 and heart rate was 115 and then it would change constantly to different numbers...don't know why but the ER doctor told me my EKG was normal and blood test were normal other then my TSH was 28 which meant it was slow. I was hypo.

After last night spending 6 hours at the ER, I woke up feeling the same. Tired and left breast still in pain.  I feel no lump. Don't understand why this is happening? Has anyone had the same problem and if so, please let me know what I should do.

I will be seeking another specialist to take over my thyroid treatment. What type of questions should I ask of the doctor and what type of test should the doctor do?

It's driving my anxiety crazy!

I'm thinking it is anxiety and muscle pain.  When I'm really stressed out I feel it in my neck which radiates into my left chest and arm.  Put your fingers just above your breast (on your ribs) and rub gently in a circular motion.  Is it tender??  Try putting a heating pad on your left shoulder/neck and see if it helps.

When I was first put on synthroid I was also given zoloft after 3 days of taking it I was in the ER with chest pain. I think, no one said for sure, i had an allergic reaction to the meds.
you might want to check with the pharmacy if all your meds can go together.
hope it helps

I believe that is just what it is.  Anxiety.  Are you  on meds for anxiety?  Anxiety can manifest itself in many ways.  It is hard to believe they didn't keep you in the hospital with that kind of blood pressure or give you something to bring it down.  Ask you doctor the same questions you are asking here and make sure you get an adequate answer that satisfies you.  Insist on meds for anxiety until you get your thyroid figured out and on some kind of thyroid medication.  There is no shame in trying to get through the day the best way possible.  Keep in touch, it helps.  Good luck.
