It may be that you are under-medicated and still hypothyroid.  What is your current med and daily dosage?  Please post your thyroid related test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.  Also, what other symptoms do you have?

I’m so so sorry to hear about this I’m almost 20 years old and have had hashi’s since I was 9. I took synthroid for about 8 years and then the weight started to kick in. I changed my medicine to nature’s thyroid and nothings helped I gained OVER 60 pounds and it’s the toughest thing when you can’t get the weight off and feel hopeless. I’ve seen doctors after doctors, I’ve seen so many specialists, have gotten ultrasounds all over my body to check and make sure if it’s something else and everything seems normal. Even when I take blood they say my tests come back normal. I just want to say I understand the stress and discomfort and hope U all the best to find a way to shed those pounds !

Personally you are going at it the wrong way here. No weight decrease will happen until your thyroid gets back to a normal state with medication.

Hashi's is like war for your hormones and once the attack starts to happen it effects weight most of the time. You can diet until your blue and still weight is an issue. TAking supplements will only prolong the TSH to balance and will be a very costly and unhealthy disappointment.

You need to get your focus on TSH and getting that stabilized - then your weight issues will start changing.

It is so tough _ I KNOW - I am fighting the same battle - Finally I am dropping  tiny bits of weight (every bit is good) but my TSh is near where it should be for that to happen.

I know you want this to happen quickly - everyone does - but it will start to happen when you become healthy again.

Hey, I was worried about Alzheimer's to.  My son has ADD and I thought the same thing except for one thing.  I haven't always been this way.  I used to run an office of about 28 realtors and then was one myself.  I managed 15-20 listings at one time and ran around like a crazy person working.  I can't understand if I had Add then why was I able to do this before.  I mean, I did this for years and never missed a beat.  Do you know how much you have to be able to remember to do that job?  If I had forgotten something like I do now then I would have lost people their homes or money if I failed to do any part of that job.  Not to mention, the legality of home contracts and stipulation agreements.  I am so flustered at the thought that I could not do that now.  I have three children and I stay at home with them now because I am so afraid of failing a client.  I am very blessed that I can do that because that was the goal anyway but I don't like the part where i know I could not do that job now.  I don't know if thyroid issues causes ADD but that is the only thing I can think of.  I will say a prayer that there is nothing else going on with your head except wedding bliss!  Also, I don't know about the water weight idea.  I always thought that it would sort of flush your system.

Hey there, I think I actually posted to you on another forum!  Anyway, that is exactly what I thought from what I have read but my doctor says it could be Hashi's????  I don't know if maybe it is an early stage or maybe a hyper phase or what.  My sister had her thyroid removed due to several nodules and she is hyperthyroid as well.  I don't know if the specific disorder runs in families but I have heard that thyroid issues can be genetic.  I think my symptoms fall more in the hypo category though some of the hyper pertains to me (ie.anxiety, nervousness).  Honestly, I am not sure what I am if anything.  I am hoping this is just a blip in my system that runs it course and goes away.  I am thinking it's not though.  The levels I mentioned were taken before the medication was given.  I am wondering how long it takes for them to kick in or to feel even a little better.

I have tried to deal with the loss of memory by telling everyone everything so they can remind me I also leave myself messages all over the place... I make lots of notes and try to repeat things to myself so hopefully i will remember..... My fiance is really good about trying to help me but there are times I ask him for something and don't even know what its called so I keep saying the thing and he trys to figure out what I am asking for.... on the 25th I am going to be tested for ADHD and a short term memory test to see if there is anything else going on in my head.... I am really scared since my grandmother had alsheimers (not sure if it spelled right)

AARRGH!  That has to be so frustrating!!  $1300 is alot and you want it to look perfect!  I am trying to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.  I know that may sound like an easy answer but you could try it.  I don't know if you already do it or not but water weight seems to be an issue with me.  I'll let you know if it works but you could try it and see.  I do hope your wedding day is perfect for you!!!

With TSH low normal and normal T3 and T4 you actually have sub clinical HYPERthyroidism!
Was this test taken before or after the medication?

I forgot to mention about the memory loss...imagine that!  lol  Anyway, mine started with losing things all of the time, then forgeting appointments which all directly effects my husband.  It drove him crazy and made me mad!  I got (get) so irritated with myself because it is just not like me.  I guess that's what I mean by he can see that it isn't my normal self.  I am really hoping the synthroid helps me but I have learned a few tricks along the way.  He has gotten to where he doesn't fuss when I forget something, he just gives me this look and then I know....I did it again!  I also, live by my calendar and make to do lists.  Those really help when I don't lose those! lol  Let me know, if you have figured out any tricks....any tips would help!

Your wedding sounds so exciting!  Try thinking about how great that will be and just do your best to eat healthy.  That has helped in my energy too.  I work alot and it is hard to prepare good meals but I can tell the difference when I eat more whole grains and salads!  My husband and I went to Cabo San Lucas last year when all of this thyroid stuff really kicked in and I wanted so badly to lose weight before we went but I just couldn't get it off.  I understand about the none of your clothes fit as well.  I refused to go to the next size up because I just knew I could get it off.  It didn't come off and I don't say that to discourage you but to let you know that I had an amazing time anyway.  My husband doesn't understand what is actually going on with me either but he knows things aren't normal and he can see me try and get frustrated.  I ended up having the most amazing time and believe it or not, I didn't think about my weight at all when we were there.  I did however, buy the next size because it looked better than me trying to make a smaller size work. As for the bathing suit, I had alot of really adorable suits and  coverups that didn't feel like a moo moo! lol  I did find some things that worked for me but you still have time to lose a few if your body cooperates with you!  If you don't lose don't worry, I am sure your new husband loves you no matter what.  Just don't give up trying and believe me I know all of that is easier said than done!

I have only been on it a few weeks due to a large diffuse goiter.  My TSH is low normal with normal T4 and T3.  I don't know what is even going on really because I haven't had the antibody tests yet but I feel exhausted one minute then fine the next.  I do drink a little to much coffee just to keep going.  I would be excited to lose 40 pounds but would be happy to just not gain anymore.  I have put on weight on and off for a few years now.  The goiter has been there for about a year but has grown significantly over the past few months.  I can't even sleep through the night because of snoring so badly.  I am really forgetful as well.  I am a substitue teacher and a Sunday school teacher and often times I can't remember where we are during a lesson.  It's really embarrassing.  I have pernious anemia to, or at least my pc thinks so.  I started taking b12 shots and feel a little better but not back to my old self.  The weight thing is so awful.  I outweigh my husband but he supports me very well.  I don't know what I would do without him.  How much weight are you trying to lose?

I wonder the same thing as 898....why?  I am on Synthroid as well and the weight isn't going anywhere.  I have cut my calories down to 1000 a day and I am walking or on the stair stepper for 40 minutes every other day.  I would like to try something to help it along as well.  Why is it dangerous?
