Thank you, I have found that most Doctors don't see the need from the information they receive from the medical community, I am with most of everyone here, we do need them.
Finding a Doctor in my area are far and few, I go back next week for blood work with the Igg and suppose to go see a Hematologist and Rheumatologist maybe I can get one of them to get on track with me, Thank you for advice. I do believe they are all connected.
Patience is the key but not always, easy.
I know almost nothing about the Immunoglobulin G. I am curious as to what put your doctor on that track. After having half of your thyroid removed, you have since been having upper respiratory and sinus infections, right? When problem solving, I always ask, what has changed that might cause the problem. This would make me most suspicious of the possibility of low thyroid levels contributing to your problem.
I know that whenever I have gone through periods of being hypo, I always seemed to come up with a sinus or upper respiratory infection. When I am Euthyroid, I hardly ever (knock on wood) have that problem. Just looking at the limited thyroid test results you have, I think your med dosage is too low. It is usually best to have FT4 at the midpoint or slightly above and FT3 in the upper part of its range. To confirm the need for more medication, you need to get tested for free T3 as well as the FT4 and TSH.
FT3 is the most important test to me, because FT3 largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. Also, studies have shown that FT3 correlates best with hypo symptoms, while FT4 and TSH did not correlate. When you go back to the doctor you should request testing for FT3, FT4 and TSH. If the doctor resists, then just insist on it and don't take no for an answer. It is very important to know the level of FT3 rather than just assume that by knowing FT4 the doctor can estimate FT3. Since patients with hypothyroidism also frequently have problems with low Vitamin D, B12, iron/ferritin, it would be good to find out about those also.
If you get those tests done, then get a copy and post results and reference ranges so that members can help interpret and advise further.
my last test free t-4 was 0.90 lab ref was 0.60-1.65 ng/dl
my THS ultrasensitive was 2.034 lab ref is 0.340-5.600
I am taking 75mcg of Levo
Please post your thyroid test results, along with reference ranges shown on the lab report. Also, what dosage of Levo are you taking daily?
