Lymphoepithelial tangles in FNA biopsy

Ultrasound revealed one nodule in the right lobe at 4mm.  5 months later another one developed which was 9mm in the left lobe.  They both seem to be growing about 1mm a month.  A CT scan showed lymphadenopathy (my ENT said that I have more lymph nodes than he has ever seen in a patient), and a protrusion into my esophagus at the base of my tongue which hasn't been biopsied yet.  FNA biopsy of the nodules showed many "mature-appearing lymphocytes and lymphoepithelial tangles".  My thyroid is smaller than average, not swollen at all.  I'm in extreme pain, it hurts to swallow and speak though I still have my voice.  I'm losing my hair by the handfulls, I've been on levothyroxine (75mcg) for 9 months yet the nodules keep growing and the pain keeps getting worse.  My blood pressure keeps going up and now I'm on lisinopril, hydrochlorothiazide and propanalol.  I have sudden onset of fatigue with nausea and dizziness so I'm now taking promethazone.  I'm also taking a low dosage (2mg) of steroids (dexamethasone).  I have terrible memory problems and my brain is like a slug (I had an IQ of 143, but I think I've lost it).  My biggest question, is what in the heck is a lymphoepithelial tangle and is it related to lymphoma?

Here's the link to our Leukemia / Lymphoma support community:

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Leukemia--Lymphoma-/show/139

but stick around here, too .. sounds like you have thyroid woes, too, which can account for your symptoms ...

Sorry you are in such a holding pattern ...  with a high # as you show of 839 you could be all over the place and your level just happened to be normal on that day, but I'm not a doc.

You *could* try to post, also, on one of the cancer communities .... I know the CL of the Breast Cancer Community ... if you'd like .. let her know that I recommended you PM her and/or the CL of leukemia/lymphoma ... but she hasn't been on the community as much as she'd like to be. Some of the cancer communities have docs that stop by to answer.

Let me post this and look @ the forums.  Be back in a few.

Hi and thanks for the welcome.  My TSH is normal with the 75mcg of levothyroxine, but I was very hypo.

My total T3 is low, my T4 is normal, the thyroid peroxidase Ab is a whopping 839, the thyroglobulin Ab tested normal but I've read that this test is unreliable when you're hyper or hypothyroid.  I've also developed a cough over the last week, which no one else around has...just me...no other symptoms of a cold or flu.  I do sweat a lot, profusely in fact...not just at night either.  I used to think the sweating and hot flashes were because I had my ovaries removed a few years ago but now I'm wondering if it's because of lymphoma.

HI and welcome..wanted to say I read your post but don't know at all ... maybe others may know .. if not one of our expert communities may be able to answer with a Dr knowing a bit more.

What were your TSH and other thyroid tests results?  Wonder if you are too hyper and thus the brain fog symptoms or too hypo .. either can cause them.
