Medication change

My doctor said my TSH level was 0.2   I have been taking 75mcg. of generic brand Synthroid.  The 50mcg. was not enough and the 100mcg was too much!  Now the doc says to take a 75mcg. one day and a 50mcg the next day.  How is that going to raise my TSH up????  That is "lowering" my medication every other day?  Shouldn't he have told me to take a 100mcg and a 75mcg on alternate days?  This is crazyness. SOMEONE Help Me!

Linda,
At a 0.2 you are borderlining going hyper on synthroid. That is why he is having you alternate with just a little less every other day....my dr would have had me take lower dose on weekends only and then retest to see. Were you having hyper symptoms? What was the reason for decrease? Just by your numbers?
What were your free t3 and free t4 levels?

You sound like me. I have too much at 75, and to little at 50. I believe if I have another 15 mg, I will be fine.  But I will wait and see what he says. No with your levels at .2 you are considered hyper. So fluctuating the doses will help you from being that way. I think you should have a t3 free and t4 free ran as well, to see what else might be oing on.
